Lifestyle Newborn Plan

In a "Lifestyle Newborn Photo" session, I capture your baby and family exactly as they are, in the home where your baby is spending its very first days. No posed newborn photography — just natural moments, gently documented within about the first month after birth.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What kind of moments can you capture in a Lifestyle Newborn session?+

I capture your family's natural connection in the relaxed atmosphere of your own home — bath time, feeding or nursing, tiny details of your baby, favorite baby items, and moments with siblings or pets. Please let me know what you'd most like to preserve during our pre-session chat.

Q. When is the best time for the session?+

Sessions take place within the first month after birth. Around the 2nd to 3rd week tends to be ideal, since babies are usually sleeping more at that stage. That said, we can always adjust the timing to fit your and your baby's condition.

Q. Can the session be held at home?+

Yes — I photograph in the home where your baby will be growing up alongside your family from the very start. Shooting at home also means no travel for you, so you can simply relax and enjoy the process while the photos are taken.

Q. What should we wear?+

To keep things feeling natural, I recommend simple, calm colors for the family's outfits. White, cream, earth tones, and pastels are popular choices, as they harmonize beautifully with your baby's skin. Feel free to add a subtle pattern on top of that base color if you'd like — just note that logos or large graphic prints are best avoided, since plain outfits let your baby's face stand out more.

You don't need to match everyone head-to-toe — simply keeping the color tones aligned across the family is enough to create a cohesive look alongside your baby. I also recommend wearing whatever feels comfortable and not too formal, so everyone can relax.

If you're not sure what to choose, feel free to send me photos of the outfits you're considering — I'm happy to help you decide together.

Q. What if the baby cries during the session?+

That's completely okay! I'll capture a few natural, documentary-style shots of your baby crying too, but above all, we'll pause and take a break to help your baby feel comfortable again before continuing. Feeding, diaper changes, and other care will always take priority, on your baby's own schedule.

Q. Is there anything to prepare for older siblings?+

Before the session starts, it helps to have them fed, dressed, and in as good a mood as possible. If you're planning a treat as a reward, something that won't get their hands or clothes messy is ideal. That said, I've been through my own children's "baby regression" phase, so I fully expect that even with the best preparation, kids will still get excited or a little fussy sometimes — and that's completely fine.

I also understand how overwhelming the postpartum period can be, both physically and emotionally. If things don't go exactly as planned, please don't worry at all! I'll help out wherever I can once I arrive, so please set aside any pressure to have everything perfectly ready.

Q. Is there anything to prepare before the session?+

I recommend setting the room a little warmer than usual to keep your baby cozy. It's also a good idea to have a spare outfit on hand for family members, in case of any spit-up. Depending on the scenes we shoot, a few items like a baby bath may be needed — but otherwise, just relax at home as you normally would.

Q. How long does the session take?+

Sessions typically run about 90 minutes. We'll move at your baby's own pace, with breaks for feeding or diaper changes along the way.

Q. Can we get photos with the whole family?+

Of course! I'll photograph your baby together with your whole family, as well as with siblings and pets. If the session takes place at a grandparent's home, I'm happy to include grandparents in the photos too.
